Troubleshooting connectivity on macOS

There are several reasons why you may be having trouble connecting to NordVPN on your macOS device. These include issues with your account status or app configuration. To troubleshoot, there are a few things you should do.

  1. Click on the settings button at the top left corner of the app
  2. Select the General tab.
  3. Under VPN Protocol, select the OpenVPN (TCP) protocol.
  • *If that does not help, try changing your DNS servers to CloudFlare DNS (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1). 
  • Additionally, try using Obfuscated Servers. You can locate the Obfuscated Servers under the Specialty Servers section, after switching to TCP protocol.
*Please note, these DNS servers are not provided by NordVPN, and thus should be used at one's own discretion. 

After each step, check if the issue remains. In the case that the problems are still there, be sure to reach out to our support team for a quick solution by pressing on either the email or chat button bellow. 


Tip: Don't forget to use a strong password for your NordVPN account, as it will help you to avoid credential stuffing attacks and will keep your account safe.
